We chose for tourism because tourism is booming in Suriname nowadays. We were instructed by our professor to do research about this subject and come with solutions to make the outcome better.
We got the instructions to use 21st century tools like scamper, decision matrix, Six thinking Hats to handle our project.

My Contribution
Below you can see our interview video that I made as videographer.
After our first interview in downtown Paramaribo we came to the conclusion that the Tourism in Suriname is not promoted enough in Suriname. After using the six hats, 6-3-5 and decision Matrix we came with a concept plan.We decided to make a website in Wix and to make short promotional and educational videos to promote Suriname.
Below you can see the printscreens of our website and our facebook page. Both printscreens are also linked with our website and our facebook page. I also worked on the website with the other members, but honestly the biggest contribution for this website was Priscilla's. The Facebook page was done by Rina & Sharrel.
would like to stress that all these videos are still group videos.
Now I will introduce you to educational videos that I made together with the other members of the group .My contribution to these videos is that I'm the cameraman and the editor of these videos. The voice over of these videos is also done by me. The presentation of the videos of Fort Nieuw Amsterdam is done by Julian MacLean. But I The foundation stone for the construction of the fort by the JAH Cheusses placed in December 1734. The construction lasted until 1747. Like Fort Zeelandis the fort has the shape of a regular pentagon with bastion points. It was designed by engineer P Desroques, director general of the country's fortifications from 1713-1730.
The building was difficult. At first it was planned to bake the bricks on site, but the silt and clay proved to be too wet to bake good stones. In this time it was determined that vessels from the Netherlands had to take bricks. Then it appeared that the bottom (formerly swamp) was too soft. In 1735 it was decided to create an earthen wall with wooden poles.
Between the inner wall and the shore was a moat with a drawbridge. There was also made a sluice to control the water level in the fort. The fort had barracks, two powder houses (1740 and 1778), guard buildings, a carpenter's shed, a blacksmith shop, a brickyard and various reservoirs. The oldest gunpowder was soon too small and, when the second powder magazine was ready, used artillery laboratory.
For the abolition of slavery was the plantation owner responsible for his slaves, but later the government was responsible. There was a need for prisons. In 1872 the prison of Fort New Amsterdam was built by the Building Department when WHJ of Idsingagovernor of Suriname was. In prison, four isolation cells. It was a wooden bed and a bucket but there was no daylight. It was at least a week locked up and allowed out only once a day to eat, this consisted of bread and water. With an average temperature of 30 degrees it really stank in those cells.
In 1942, 146 interned German men transferred to Suriname. They were locked in the prison of Fort New Amsterdam. A physician, Dr. Schoonheyt was put on suspicion of an attempted escape three weeks in solitary confinement. Then he was brought before a tribunal. Prison Commander Colonel JK Meyer ordered to shoot him. The corporal who refused this mandate, and the doctor lived. Later Schoonheyt was with his fellow prisoners transferred to Dutch East Indies where he has done clandestinely much for the indigenous population. He was appointed after the war to Camp Jodensavanne . Knight in the Order of Orange Nassau
The prison was closed on March 30, 1982.
The Onafhankelijkheidsplein (Independence Square) is a town square in Paramaribo, the capital of Suriname. The square is situated in the historical inner city, near the Suriname River and the presidential palace.
Before the independence of Suriname from the Netherlands in 1975, it was also called the Oranjeplein (Orange Square) and the Gouvernementsplein (Gouvernment Square)
We also made some promotional videos to promote tourism and bring it to a higher level.
Below you will see a promotional video of our pristine forest.
The first Qr - code poster was made by Sharrel Righters. After the meeting with the agriculture group of John van der Zijde we got a suggestion to make our posters larger. Before we had intended for them to be flyers on A5 format. So I decided to make a new poster on format A1. Below you will see the poster.
I'd like to share some pictures that were taken during the project.
At the end everybody contributed to the final report
