Who is Perwinkoemar Mohan ?
The History Teacher
Perwin Mohan is a teacher of history at the R.D. Simonsschool. The R.D. Simonsschool is a secondary school situated in the heart of Paramaribo,
the capital of Suriname. As a teacher he started working in October 2003 at Mulo Latour also a secondary school in the south of Paramaribo.
He is convinced that all people on this earth should know about their history. He believes that a person who doesn't know his history is a lost man.
By knowing your history you can build a better future.
The Radio Jockey / Cameraman
Before Perwin Mohan became a teacher, he worked at a local hindi-oriented radio & television station in Paramaribo as a radio jockey and cameraman. Working for the radio or television is like soldier with much discipline. You have to be on time with your program, you can't skip a day, you have to be available 24 hours. He liked that job because it was a very honorable job with lots of fun also. He worked on this job from September 1998 till November 2003.
The Wedding Videographer
Perwin Mohan is very busy man, because he also has a second job. He is a wedding videographer. Shooting weddings in the weekend in not only a job, but a passion for him. Working as videographer is not an easy job, because editing a wedding video is a hell of job. So he has to work on a better time management, because now he is also an ICT student at IOL.
The ICT Course
This ICT Course will be challenge for him, because it is in English. He knows that his English is poor, but he also realises that a language can't be a barrier for doing this course. He apologizes for any grammatical inconveniences in his texts during this course.
The Satisfied teacher after 3 years ICT in Education
I actually started doubting my choice of signing up for this course in the beginning. But as the course progressed I started liking it more and more, though there were times when the self doubt came to the surface. But in due time and with support from the home base and my teammates I was able to pull through. And now that we're reaching the end I'm feeling proud that I decided to sit it out and complete this course.
Regards,
Perwinkoemar Mohan
